About this event:
The Sands of the Seashore
I am always blessed by any opportunity to go to the beach. I am not going right now but thought about Howard Edmonson getting ready to make a month trip to the beach. I began to think about the awesomeness of God’s creation when I gaze out toward the horizon from shore. The water seems endless going mile after mile after mile. How far we can gaze is a matter of opinion but it seems forever. Then I think about the sand on the seashore. Each grain of sand standing next to another and another and another. Thousands upon thousands of grains of sand make up one tiny little space we use up on the beach.
God knows how many grains of sand there are in that space and on the entire beach. He knows how many miles the water extends to the horizon. He knows how many waves beat the shore every day, every month, every year, year after year. He knows every detail we love, every precise creature that is on that seashore from hermit crabs to sand fleas, to star fish. He knows because He is God. He knows because He is the creator.
He knows each and every one of us and loves us eternally. He knows the number of hairs on our heads. He knows what is in our hearts. He knows what tomorrow will bring.
It is hard to envision the vastness of God. But how thankful to know that God, Creator of the universe is concerned about me. I am a grain of sand in the midst of thousands upon thousands upon thousands. And even though I am a small part of God’s vast universe He loves me.
I John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
