About this event:
Birds and My Value
As I was standing at our kitchen sink looking at the birds in the tree just outside our window this thought came to mind. These birds are flying in and out of the tree just enjoying life regardless of all that is going on in the world. They are not worried about the coronavirus.
Then this scripture came to mind. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27.
We are learning how much more valuable we are as we turn to our Lord during these difficult days. Second Chronicles 7:14 says, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Wow! Nothing in here about worrying being the way to the Lord. Humbling, praying, and seeking God leads to hearing, forgiving and healing. That kind of puts life in a different perspective during this stay-at-home time.
So, take time to look out the window at the birds and let them remind you of how valuable you are to our Lord. Then humble yourself before the Lord and seek His Face in prayer.
Lord Jesus, in the midst of all this worldwide chaos You remind me of how valuable I am to You. Help me turn to You and seek Your Face each and every day, and in each and every circumstance.
Blessings on you, Art
